Cookie policy
Essential cookies only
Last updated 16 October 2026
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Clean Quarter only uses the few that are strictly needed for the site to work. We don't use any tracking, analytics or advertising cookies.
The cookies we use
| Cookie | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in to your manager, contractor or admin account. Set only when you sign in. May be split into parts (.0, .1). | Until you sign out (at most 400 days) |
| cq-theme | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. | 1 year |
| cq-building | For managers, remembers which building you last chose to view. | 1 year |
Residents who scan a QR code to report something don't get a sign-in cookie: reporting needs no account. They may get the light or dark mode cookie if they change it.
Why there's no cookie banner
UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) only requires consent for cookies that aren't strictly necessary. Ours are all needed to provide the service you're using or to remember a choice you made, so we don't need to ask, and we don't show a banner.
Phone notifications
Contractors who add Clean Quarter to their home screen can choose to turn on notifications. This uses a small script stored by the browser (a service worker) to show job alerts. It isn't used for tracking, and you can turn it off in your phone's settings at any time.
Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookie you won't be able to sign in, but residents can still report issues.
